DIY Fabric Lampshade Tutorial
The other day Clara and I took a little road trip down to Ikea in New Haven Connecticut to pick up some shelving and a few decor items for our newly renovated video studio. Now, I usually adore a good trip to Ikea. You always know what you’re going to get, but at the same time, the potential for discovering something you haven’t seen before is exciting. You may just come across awesome items you missed while thumbing through the latest coveted catalogue, or discover a new way to use something in a space. But I was slightly disappointed at the lack of lovely little surprises on this particular trip. For example, we considered getting some accessory lighting for the studio but out of, what, hundreds of lamps in the space, we really didn’t find anything that spoke to us. What were we to do? Improvise.
Has this ever happened to you? Or, have you loved the shape of a particular lamp but weren’t feeling the shade’s look? There’s a super simple way to add the personality you’re looking for. The below photo is from The Blissful Bee, where Amy recovered her lampshade using Premier Prints Towers Sherbet/Gray Twill Fabric.
