DIY Geometric Pillow with Piping
At the beginning of the summer, eight awesome DIY bloggers worked with OFS on a “Creating with the Classics” tour, where they used Premier Prints fabric for projects based on popular books they were assigned. Let’s see, there was Alice in Wonderland, The Secret Garden, The Great Gatsby, and Treasure Island, to name a few. And today I bring you a pillow tutorial inspired by the classic, Huckleberry Fin. A rather tough one to base a project around, right? But Sarah embraced the challenge.
She began by noting a running theme in the story — “conflict between civilization and nature.” From that, her idea surfaced, and she made contrast the star in her design.
I love the delicate pink piping around the black and white pillows, and the arrow shape she created using the striped fabric. And the pomp pom trim adds such an elegant touch to the subtle chevron pillow. Here are the two fabrics she used to create the look.
