DIY Hamper/Laundry Bag Tutorial

Forget Pinterest crafts for kids and sports camps. My summers growing up in the ’80s on a hill in the middle of nowhere Massachusetts were spent riding bikes, catching frogs, exploring the woods and playing neighborhood capture the flag as the sun went down. My three sisters and I would always return home periodically throughout the day though, to grab a snack or yet another change of clothes. I can still see my grandmother (rest her soul) with neatly folded stacks of laundry on one side of her and a plentiful pile waiting its turn on the other. It took an act of pure bravery to pull a fresh pair of shorts from one her piles, I tell you.

And while many things about childhood summer activities may have changed since then, that never-ending laundry part hasn’t budged a bit. At least in my boy-filled, popsicle-dripping, dirt-playing, potty-training household. Thus, having several places to toss dirty clothes is essential. (Having an amazing laundry-doing husband doesn’t hurt either! Hate to brag #sorrynotsorry.) So. If you, too, will be in laundry land this summer, I recommend this DIY hamper from Trisha of Black and White Obsession.

So cute, right? She simply used some Rust-Oleum spray paint and Premier Prints Dandelion White/Black Fabric to spruce up a thrifted wicker hamper.
