Practical dog coats are easy to make with simple patterns; Simplicity has a variety of dog coat patterns, including matching coats for dogs and their owners.  In colder weather short haired dogs will benefit from a coat.  Coats can be great for older animals that suffer from joint problems. Dog coats can be made from fleece, corduroy and other warm materials. Hook and loop tape (Velcro) is ideal for fastening pet coats easily and it is easy to attach to fabric.
