How To Use Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year

Here it is. The 2014 Pantone Color of the Year is…Radiant Orchid.

People seem to be pretty split on this one; many on social media begging for moderation in its use. I, for one, adore the word “radiant” so, well, that’s a good start. But as far as the color goes, moderation does sound like a good idea. Overall though, I think when used alongside accenting colors it’s going to be a good one.

I know throughout the year OFS will likely add fabrics with this lavender shade. But until those go up, I wanted to point out some of our existing fabrics that do the color justice. That way, if you’re on the fence about it, you can find a fabric that has both your home’s existing color palette and something Radiant Orchid-like. By using the fabric in something easily changeable like throw pillows or drapes you can dabble in the trend without fully committing.
