How to Make a Faux Fur Blanket

Winter is coming and so is the final season of Game of Thrones!
Here’s how to make a GOT inspired blanket that will keep you warm through the long night and your premiere party!
UPDATE: This blanket is absolutely perfect for cuddling up and crying yourself to sleep over the death and destruction of your favorite television show.
Materials
- 2 Yards of Faux Fur
- 4 Yards of Flannel
- 3 Packages of Blanket Binding
- Scissors
- Thread
- An Iron and Board
- A Sewing Machine

Instructions
Step 1: Measure and cut
Your blanket will be the size of the faux fur. Since the flannel is not as wide, you will need to make a piece that is large enough to cover the back of your blanket. To do this. Cut your flannel into two pieces that are each 2 yards long.
Step 2: Sew
With right sides facing, sew the two pieces together. Now cut the flannel, from the edges so that it is 2 inches wider than your fur. Now open the flannel and iron the seam open.
Step 3: Pin
Pin the fur to the flannel with the wrong sides facing.
Step 4: Sew
Sew around the perimeter of your blanket.
Trim off any extra material
Step 5: Attach the binding
Pin and sew the binding to the perimeter of your blanket. Binding is similar to bias tape and can be attached the same way. For more information, see our how to sew bias tape tutorial.
