How to Make Burp Cloths

This simple tutorial shows you how to make baby burp cloths using a bit of fabric and a cloth diaper. These burp cloths make great personalized gifts for baby showers.
Materials
- 1/4 yard of cotton fabric
- Cloth diaper
- Scissors
- Thread
- Ruler
- Pins

Instructions
Step 1: Measure and cut the fabric
On the wrong side of the cotton fabric, measure and cut a 6 by 22 inch strip.
Iron the sides a 1/2 inch over towards the inside.
Step 2: Pin and stitch the fabric
Place the fabric in the middle of the diaper and pin the sides along the creases.
For the top and bottom, fold the fabric over 3/4 of an inch twice towards the back of the diaper. Pin in a few places.
Stitch around the fabric, back stitching at the beginning and end. I’m using a 1/4 inch seam allowance for the top and bottom, and a 1/8 inch seam allowance for the sides.
