Ballistic nylon began its life as the material used in World War II flak jackets for pilots. Since then, ballistic nylon has found its way into a number of less glamorous uses, while quietly fading out of use in the ballistic industry in favor of newer, more technologically advanced materials, such as Kevlar. This Black 1050 Denier Coated Ballistic Nylon is coated in urethane and is thick, stiff, and tough. It makes an excellent choice for heavy duty gear such as luggage or bottoms for camping bags. It can be made into tool belts, watch straps, or motorcycle jackets. It also is a fairly standard material for use on kayak frames. Black is versatile and well-loved, and can be paired with any other color to achieve exactly the look and style you're looking for. 1050 is the heaviest of the ballistic nylon options, suitable for your most heavy-duty needs! It resists abrasion and tearing.
