Instructions

Step 1: Measure & cut the fabric

Measure and cut an 11 by 5 inch rectangle out of both cotton fabrics.

Also measure and cut an 11 by 5 inch rectangle out of both kinds of interfacing.

Step 2: Fuse & stitch the interfacing

Fuse the Pellon fusible fleece to the wrong side of the outside fabric. Make sure the rough side of the interfacing is facing down.

Then, pin the Insul-Fleece to the wrong side of the lining. Stitch all the way around with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

Step 3: Stitch the koozie

With the right sides facing each other, pin along the sides to help keep the fabric in place. Stitch with a 1/4 inch seam allowance along the edges. On one end of the rectangle, leave a few inches open.

Fold the koozie to the right side through the opening. Use a sharp object to poke out the corners.

Iron the koozie to help press down the edges. Where the opening is, fold the edges in and pin. Stitch along the sides with 1/8 of an inch seam allowance

Step 4: Attach the Velcro

Cut a 3 and 1/2 inch piece out of both sides of the Velcro. The loop Velcro is more stiff than the hook Velcro.
On the inside lining, pin the loop Velcro piece to one end of the rectangle. Flip to the other side and on the opposite end do the same for the hook.

Leave about 1/4 of an inch between the edge and the Velcro, and stitch along the sides. Close the sides together and the koozie is complete.
