Tulle skirts aren’t just for kids! Today I’m going to show you how to make an adult-size tulle skirt that involves no sewing. You can make it a solid color or use alternating colors. This skirt uses a ribbon around the waist, but you can also use elastic.
I’m using 10 yards of 54″ plain tulle, 5 yards of each color.
On the folded line of the tulle, cut 6″ wide strips using the rotary cutter and ruler. I’m leaving it 54″ long, but you can cut it to any length that you want.
If you have more than one color, do this for all colors.
Starting 18 to 20 inches in from the end of the ribbon, take the folded end of the tulle and place it under the ribbon making a “U” shape. Take the ends and loop them over the ribbon and under the “U” shape. Gently push upwards to secure the knot.
Continue this until you’ve reached your desired fullness. I decided to alternate between two different colors. Make sure to leave 18 to 20 inches of ribbon at the end.
Tie it around your waist and the skirt is done.
