How to Make Pocket Tissue Holders

Looking for the perfect compact handmade gifts to complete your list? No need to cry about it, these simple tissue holders are perfect for holding travel sized tissue packs. They’re great for using up fabric scraps, and they fit nicely in seasonal stocking-like receptacles (hint hint). Try using an outdoor fabric like I did to make it weather resistant.

Grab your gift list and let’s get to it!

Instructions

Step 1: Measure & Cut the Fabric

Start by cutting one 8.5 by 6.5 inch piece of the lining fabric and one 6.5 by 6.5 piece of the main fabric.

Step 2: Sew Together

Line up one side of the main fabric with one of the shorter sides of the lining fabric with right sides facing. Pin in place and sew with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

Line up the opposite end of the main fabric with the other end of the lining.

Pin and sew like before.

Center the main fabric on top of the lining and iron. There should be a little bit of lining fabric sticking out on both sides.

Sew the open ends using a 1/4 inch seam allowance leaving an opening of a few inches on one end.

Turn right side out through the opening and poke out the corners.

Fold the edges of the opening in and iron the whole piece.

Fold the sides in to the middle of the main fabric. The ends should overlap a little bit. Press to flatten, and sew across both open ends.

Turn right side out, and the tissue holder is complete!
