Deck cloth, also known as platform cloth, is used in upholstery projects to cover the “deck” of the seat and a cushion is placed on top. This gives any furniture piece a finished look while providing support for the cushion. It also eliminates the need to use expensive fabric on this part of a chair or sofa as it is most often hidden from sight. This black color choice works well with furniture that is upholstered in dark fabrics.
