Georgette Fabric
Georgette fabric is a sheer, lightweight material that is great for an array of garments, including blouses, dresses, scarves, and other flowy, sheer pieces. It is similar to chiffon but has a slightly heavier weight, greater durability, and less lustrous finish. Beyond fashion, the fabric is also utilized for light diffusion on lampshades and professional photography setups. Georgette is frequently used to make Indian dresses, known as Saris or Sarees.
Though Chiffon and Georgette have many similarities, it’s important to note the differences between the two fabrics. Chiffon is softer, thinner, and more lustrous, while Georgette is a bit heavier, more durable, and has a crinkly texture due to the highly twisted threads. Georgette is also less transparent than Chiffon. Overall, both fabrics are lightweight and have beautiful draping qualities.

Organza Fabric
Organza is a sheer, lightweight fabric that’s commonly used in evening and bridal gowns due to its voluminous structure. Unlike other sheer fabrics, organza has less drape, is more transparent and stiffer. Although it wrinkles easily, it creates more volume, making it popular for sheers, wedding and event decorations such as table skirts, overlays, and draping. Organza comes in many varieties, textures, and colors, all of which are lightweight and sheer with a lot of body and volume but little stretch.

Tulle Fabric
Tulle, a delicate and lightweight mesh material, is ideal for creating stunning decorations such as table skirts, drapes, and chair sashes. Moreover, it’s perfect for fashion apparel like prom dresses, bridal veils, wedding gowns, dresses, over skirts, and tutus. Tulle is also an excellent option for no-sew projects since it does not fray. One of our favorite projects using tulle is creating kitchen scrubbies; they make fantastic presents and are enjoyable to create. Regardless of the occasion, tulle is a versatile fabric that can help you create beautiful and affordable decorations or apparel.

Voile Fabric
Voile is a beautiful and delicate fabric that is ideal for a variety of projects such as window treatments, clothing, and event decorations. Traditional voile is 118 inches wide and perfect for any project that requires a lightweight sheer fabric. Our crushed voile is 108 inches wide and adds texture while still maintaining a light and airy feel.
While voile is lightweight and sheer, it is a bit stiffer than chiffon, making it the perfect material for projects such as wedding veils, chair sashes, tablecloths, and even as a lining in christening gowns or any other dress that requires the gentle structure of a crisp voile.
