This week I wanted to give my dining rooms table a little upgrade. After some searching on Pinterest, I just wasn't finding the perfect one, SO I decided to create my own idea! These basket weave placemats are easy to make and will add texture to your table settings. I'm using a combination of sewing and gluing, but if you wanted to make this a no-sew project, you could definitely do that. You can use a single fabric or mix and match, which is a great use of your fabric scraps.

And let me tell you, this is not your grandmothers old floral wallpaper. New paper is easier to remove which means it doesn't have to stay up for 20+ years (no regrets amiright? ) If you have never ordered, or installed wallpaper we have some very helpful wallpaper guides that I recommend checking out before starting your project. They help to explain the terminology used when you are buying wallpaper, how to match your panels, and along with this tutorial, you will have all of the information you need to do your project with confidence.

To finish up with this awesome chair we bought at the Brimfield Flea Market, we decided to make a cushion to compliment the basic cushion that we made a few weeks back. We loved the way the cushion added a little sophistication to the completed chair without making it look too formal. And best of all, it is hardly more difficult than its basic counterpart (a few more pieces of fabric and a couple of extra steps, but you CAN do it! ) Here's how you can make your own.

When redoing a chair we bought at the Brimfield Flea Market, I wanted to make a really simple cushion for the back rest of the seat. I knew I wanted to use this gorgeous floral upholstery fabric and I was going to make a box cushion for the bottom of the seat, but I was really unsure what I was going to do for the back. My best description of this style is a knife edge cushion but I really could not find anywhere on the internet that had this exact style that I came up with, even though I have seen this style before on furniture in stores. I am naming it the basic cushion, because you only need to cut one piece of fabric to make it. You can make yours with a zipper, or you can leave an opening in that space and use an invisible stitch to sew it closed.

Outdoor furniture is expensive. Especially if it is good quality. And if you have some of your own, after years of use, you know the inevitable. The fabric on the chair will eventually start to show signs of wear. But don't fret.

Floor poufs are a really great addition to eclectic or bohemian décor. They are super trendy right now and this one is great because you are making use of an old tire that would otherwise sit forever at the dump. We LOVE upcycled projects and we know you do too! So, I found these tires on craigslist for free! and I wanted to something fun with them.

Dip dyed tapestry's can be pretty expensive online, especially if you are looking for something personalized. So, today, I am going to show you how to make your own. These tapestries can be made any shape, color, or size. You can use a dowel for a more classic look or a tree branch for something more natural. I also thought it would be really pretty to use a necklace to hang them from the wall but I just used twine and that worked well.

The first of many. Our much anticipated Brimfield Flea Market Finds. This footstool was a diamond in the rough with a super fake looking vinyl cover, but I loved the classic modern mid century look. I also was able to pick it up for $15, which is a total steal in the world of antique furniture. In terms of reupholstery, this piece is just about as basic as it gets, which was perfect for my first full renovation project.

The great outdoors. What a wonderful place to set up camp and make a living space. Recently, we got a picnic table at work and I am pumped to be able to take my lunch outside but it is under one of the biggest trees on the lot so it could be in shade. And I like the shade, but so do the birds. To spare you the details the table gets pretty gross between the birds and the pollen.

So I have a lot of plants. It's almost a problem but I choose not to worry to much about it because I really love my plants. That being said though, I was running out of windowsill space and needed to come up with something that would give my babies that needed more sun a real leg up. That's what sparked the idea for a Faux Leather hanger. I know what you're thinking – 'that's genius' it's natural, it's classy looking, and its surprisingly sturdy.

Knotted throw pillows are a really fun way to bring a little texture and a funky look to your decor. They're really easy to make so even beginner sewers can make a few for themselves and their friends. Any stretchy material can be used to make these guys and you can make them in a variety of different ways. We made ours into a Celtic knot but there are hundreds of really cool knots out there that would make great knotted pillows.

My dog has a favorite spot in between a couch and side table where she goes to feel safe. Her joints are getting bad so we wanted to give her a dog bed here. It has to be a specific size that would be impossible to find in a store, so I'm making my own! The removable cover is washable and has a simple Velcro closure that's easier to put in than a zipper. It's made with outdoor fabric and outdoor foam, both of which are durable and prevent mildew and odor.

Summer is upon us and I am ready for hammock and camping season to begin! That being said, I already have a bug bite on my pinkey toe so I am living in a constant state of discomfort. That's why I set out on a mission to make a net for my hammock. The task was simple, make a net that was as easy to set up and store as the hammock itself. The result, you can see for yourself (is AWESOME)
