View this tutorialWay back in 2015 we made a tutorial on how to make a simple wristlet. It's always been one of my favorites and I got a lot of use out of it. I've made many since then for myself and for presents and have improved the design over time. I updated the pattern sizes and added a zipper compartment. This new zipper compartment can hold cards and cash in a more secure way than the first model.
View this tutorialMake a beautiful bouquet of tulips that will last forever! These no sew fabric flowers are perfect for a Mother's Day gift or other special present. I just got a Cricut and was excited to try it out with this project. And it didn't disappoint! But you can definitely do it with good old scissors too.
View this tutorialYou've probably noticed lately scrunchies have made a huge comeback. Unlike in the 90's though, they're not being used as a fashion statement. As our knowledge about hair care grows we realized how bad regular elastics can be for hair growth. Using fabric as a barrier between the elastic and your hair helps cut down on breakage and general damage. The method that I came up with is really easy, and doesn't require stringing the elastic through any channels, and leaves you with a really professional looking end result.
View this tutorialThis year, I really wanted to up my Christmas tree game. While "tree collars" are the trendy thing right now they are a large space commitment the rest of the year while they sit in storage, and I like the traditional look during the holidays. I have also been itching to use this new Taupe Velvet we started carrying. It is wonderfully soft with a very subtle golden sheen. I chose to make both sides the same material, but it could be reversible if you play with the materials and colors you use.
View this tutorialJust in time for valentines day! Make a DIY heating pack for someone you LOVE. You can make it in any shape, but considering the time of year, I am going to make mine into a heart (I also recommend this shape because it's perfect for treating cramps. ) Unfortunately, this specific pack is not washable because you don't want to rice to get wet, but if that is something you are concerned about, make a cover that is about the same size as your heat pack that you are able take off and wash separately.
View this tutorialOver the years, we have experimented with many different methods of dying fabric. All of which yielded beautiful results, but usually required a decent amount of work leading up to and during the dying process. But what if you want a nice all over dye without the fuss? I knew that RIT dye could be used in the washing machine but I had never tried it for myself, until today, and I am so glad that I did. The overall color was brilliantly saturated, and even.
View this tutorialThis year, I wanted to take my Halloween décor to the next level. I have some table top décor, but I wanted a center piece that could stay on the table for my annual Halloween party because as it stood I had to move the décor any time I wanted to use the table to eat. While thinking about it, I realized that clear thread could be used to make a piece that hung above the table and wouldn't interfere with my spook table setting. I chose to make mine with bats and ghosts, but I could see spiders being a really great addition as well.
View this tutorialLooking for an easy DIY halloween costume this year? Years ago, my mom had come up with this AMAZING ghost costume. This costume requires no sewing and goes over day clothes so there is no need for extensive costume planning.
View this tutorialI am not a huge seasonal decorator, but hand towels are one of those things that are really easy to store and refresh every couple of months as the seasons change. There are a few different styles that I was experimenting with and I really loved how they came out. There are SO many ways to personalize this project, be it the stamp or the type of leaves you use, or even the material you choose to make your towels. p.
View this tutorialToday we are going to be making a portable sun shade. We were trying to keep this project as low cost as possible without sacrificing ease of use and stability so we decided to go with a PVC frame. PVC is going to be readily available at hardware stores and all together cost me around $15.
View this tutorialToday we are going to be making a Yoga Mat Strap. This type of strap is super versatile, and we are making ours to carry a portable sun shade that we made in another tutorial, but it can be used for yoga mats, skis, umbrellas, and even logs. Anything that is long and heavy enough to give you a little counterweight could be put in here and carried around by the shoulder strap.
View this tutorialToday I am going to show you how to make reusable paper towels. The material on this fabric paper towel roll clings together, so they can be used on cardboard tubes. That way they'll fit on your existing paper towel holder. These unpaper towels are a little different than the ones that we had made in a previous video. They actually cling to themselves because of the flannel material as opposed to the snap method that you saw previously.
View this tutorialToday I am going to show you how to make a plastic bag holder. After having that mess of bags under my kitchen sink, I set out to figure out how to store them in a space effective way that looks nice and neat, and this DIY bag holder fit the bill perfectly.

View this tutorialThis week I wanted to give my dining rooms table a little upgrade. After some searching on Pinterest, I just wasn't finding the perfect one, SO I decided to create my own idea! These basket weave placemats are easy to make and will add texture to your table settings. I'm using a combination of sewing and gluing, but if you wanted to make this a no-sew project, you could definitely do that. You can use a single fabric or mix and match, which is a great use of your fabric scraps.
View this tutorialIf you have been following the trends over the past couple of years, you have probably seen what a huge comeback wallpaper has been making. And let me tell you, this is not your grandmothers old floral wallpaper. New paper is easier to remove which means it doesn't have to stay up for 20+ years (no regrets amiright? ) If you have never ordered, or installed wallpaper we have some very helpful wallpaper guides that I recommend checking out before starting your project. They help to explain the terminology used when you are buying wallpaper, how to match your panels, and along with this tutorial, you will have all of the information you need to do your project with confidence.
View this tutorialFor weeks I was looking for the right kind of dog collar for my new puppy Theodore. I wanted something that was personalized but I don't love traditional dog tags, I find that they always fall off and it was really important to me that he never would be without my contact information on him. I keep a collar on my dogs at all time, so I figured that the best way to keep my information on him was going to be embroidering it into the actual collar. So I decided that I wanted to make a really simple adjustable dog collar for Theo so it would look nice, and could grow with him as he grew, so I didn't have to ever worry about him getting lost.

View this tutorialTo finish up with this awesome chair we bought at the Brimfield Flea Market, we decided to make a cushion to compliment the basic cushion that we made a few weeks back. We loved the way the cushion added a little sophistication to the completed chair without making it look too formal. And best of all, it is hardly more difficult than its basic counterpart (a few more pieces of fabric and a couple of extra steps, but you CAN do it! ) Here's how you can make your own.
View this tutorialWhen redoing a chair we bought at the Brimfield Flea Market, I wanted to make a really simple cushion for the back rest of the seat. I knew I wanted to use this gorgeous floral upholstery fabric and I was going to make a box cushion for the bottom of the seat, but I was really unsure what I was going to do for the back. My best description of this style is a knife edge cushion but I really could not find anywhere on the internet that had this exact style that I came up with, even though I have seen this style before on furniture in stores. I am naming it the basic cushion, because you only need to cut one piece of fabric to make it. You can make yours with a zipper, or you can leave an opening in that space and use an invisible stitch to sew it closed.

View this tutorialFloor poufs are a really great addition to eclectic or bohemian décor. They are super trendy right now and this one is great because you are making use of an old tire that would otherwise sit forever at the dump. We LOVE upcycled projects and we know you do too! View this tutorialChafing. It happens to every one of us. The day the weather gets warm enough, all I want to do is put on my pretty summer dresses and twirl around, but every year my thighs are so rude and they chafe to the point of serious discomfort. I have tried shorts, but they're bulky and they totally ruin my favorite part about wearing a dress (NO pants, YAY! ) So I took to the internet, and I found companies making lacy garments that were super cute and super practical.
